 e-Commerce Solutions

Electronic commerce, commonly known as e-commerce or eCommerce, consists of the buying and selling of products or services over electronic systems such as the Internet and other computer networks. The amount of trade conducted electronically has grown dramatically since the wide introduction of the Internet. A wide variety of commerce is conducted in this way, including things such as electronic funds transfer, supply chain management, e-marketing, online marketing, online transaction processing, electronic data interchange (EDI), automated inventory management systems, and automated data collection systems. Modern electronic commerce typically uses the World Wide Web at least at some point in the transaction's lifecycle, although it can encompass a wider range of technologies such as e-mail as well.

e-Commerce, provides opportunity to those companies willing to build it into their business operations, and a threat to those that don’t. The implications of being “too late” could be disastrous. Our e-Commerce strategy is comprised of several essential business functions - developing, maintaining, advertising, selling and supporting products/services through an online Web store or idea. By representing an actual physical environment online, we expect to reduce some of the well-documented obstacles to e-Commerce growth – low customer service levels, insecurity, etc. By essentially “regionalizing” e-Commerce, Allainet will provides opportunities to give you and your customers an edge over the competetion.

 Site Location

Allainet will suggest & develop as well as get your site hosted on a part of the Internet that gives the quickest response and lowest latency figures. Since the sites tend to primarily cater to localized needs, it follows that most of the traffic hits are going to be regional and highly co-related in terms of origin.

As opposed to typical site hosting which should be done close to the heart of the Internet or with ISP's who have huge Internet pipes and peering arrangements themselves, in our case the site should be hosted by a service provider that has a strong local presence.

A good guess of the originating traffic would have to be applied based on the target demographics. It may be necessary to relocate the site based on empirical studies and an understanding of the carriers that service a particular region.

 Performance Monitoring

Your site infrastructure would have to be monitored on 24/7 basis as well to ensure that the service level agreement is met in terms of availability. The monitoring will also baseline the performance characteristics of the site and helps predict brownouts and service degradations based on traffic levels.

The tools to use would integrate network management functionality such as map layouts and snmp based data collection with business layer tools such as service level monitoring.
